Our Take

Comparing Amble vs TrimRx

Two GLP-1 telehealth providers worth considering for lower-cost multi-month plans are Amble and TrimRx. Amble’s telehealth positioning is weight loss, anti aging and skin health, while TrimRx focuses on just GLP-1 therapy.

Both providers operate in all 50 U.S. states, making their services nation-wide. Your decision is most likely going to come down to best fit, based on what each telehealth brand offers. I’ll cover differences, similarities, and provide my recommendations.

Key Differences

I’ve identified the key differences between Trim Rx and Amble, which span across telehealth positioning (patients they serve), pricing, and program details.

Telehealth Positioning: Who They Serve

Right off the bat, Amble’s website looks professional and they have other care paths besides GLP-1s, which include anti-aging and skin health treatments. I noted it has a feminine vibe. For women who are wanting to lose weight and anticipate interest in anti-aging peptides, potentially skin health treatments, too, then Amble could be the better option.

On the flip side, TrimRx focuses on one telehealth category: weight loss, specifically GLP-1 therapy, making them a great fit if you don’t anticipate anti-aging or skin health prescription medication.

Pricing and Plans

Overall, Amble has lower month-to-month pricing, as well as multi-month bundles. However, TrimRx has the lowest entry barrier pricing - offering a generous discount on your first purchase. Users should know that after the first month, your next purchase is at full-price.

Getting started with TrimRx is cheaper than Amble, but Amble’s pricing is more budget-friendly for long-term use.

Both offer multi-month bundles (3, 6 and 12-month plans) for patients to save money, you’ll just need to either use Affirm (buy now, pay later), or have the money upfront.

Care Experience and Program Details

TrimRx provides more detail upfront about the care experience, including unlimited messaging, member app access, what’s included with compounded plans, and estimated shipping timelines.

Amble is more price-competitive, but some parts of the experience are less specific from the outside. For example, when I contacted Amble, they said pharmacy assignment can depend on state and order volume, and that their pharmacy partners are U.S.-based 503A compounding pharmacies. However, they did not name the pharmacies in that response. I pressed the question again, asking for specific pharmacies, but didn’t receive a response. For context, most providers have no problem answering that question for me.

For shoppers who want more of the process spelled out before signing up, TrimRx may feel clearer. For shoppers who care more about the lowest ongoing compounded price, Amble is likely the better fit.

Similarities

Researching both Amble and TrimRx’s online reputation, it’s easy to see they both operate with solid customer support. I don’t think one’s better than the other in that category. Of course, almost all GLP-1 providers have their fair share of angry customers, but for the most part - they display responsiveness and shipping medication on-time.

Another similarity between the two is that both have secure, HIPPA compliant patient portals. Inside the portal, patients can message their care team and their assigned provider - all included with medication.

Customer service is very responsive at both Trim Rx and Amble. I’ve emailed back and forth multiple times, asking pricing, partner pharmacies, plans, what’s included and more. Besides Amble not getting back to me on specific partnered pharmacies, both brands displayed excellent communication, and in a timely manner.

Lastly, Amble and Trim Rx both offer compounded GLP-1s - both compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide in injection format only. TrimRx does offer brand-name, but it’s almost laughable how expensive they're selling it for, it’s almost not worth noting.

My Recommendations

If you have your sights set on either Amble or TrimRx, they are two very trustworthy online GLP-1 providers that can connect you with licensed providers and deliver your weight loss medication on time.

TrimRx has the lower entry point, with a first-order discount, while Amble has the lower-cost overall plans. However, I wouldn’t say the pricing is night and day.
