Best fit for midlife women comparing GLP-1 care with menopause-aware support, not a generic weight loss checkout flow.

Join Josie is a weight management, weight maintenance and bioidentical hormone therapy telehealth option for midlife women. I took the time to look over Join Josie’s website, intake process and even reach out to their customer service team. They offer a variety of plans and use one specific pharmacy for their month-to-month plan, which is why I believe it’s the highest price point.

First Impressions

  • Josie is specific to women over 35, particularly those who are in perimenopause and menopause.
  • Josie offers more GLP-1 options, including brand-name and compounded. Their compounded medications include injections, oral and microdose (weight maintenance). They have some of the lowest microdose pricing around - $189/mo.
  • Josie offers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and all cases are supervised by Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD.

On joinjosie.com, I was able to add to cart, and create a bundle, then take the intake form. I was also able to take the intake form, and then choose the medication. If you aren’t sure which medication to choose, Josie’s licensed providers will decide based on your intake form. It’s very easy to tell, right away, Josie is a menopause telehealth clinic. They’re one of the few providers that offer GLP-1 + HRT.

For GLP-1s, there are a handful of options: compounded - both oral and injectable, brand-name, and a weight maintenance plan - microdose.

Josie’s month-to-month plans are a higher price point compared to other, cheaper GLP-1 providers. However, their month-to-month plans use Strive Pharmacy, whereas their 3-month and above plans use Casa Pharma. Strive Pharmacy doesn’t ship to all 50 states, so if that’s the pharmacy you want, be sure to reach out to their customer support team to see if Strive delivers to your state.

The Intake Process

Josie’s intake process was very smooth, pretty fast (took me 2-3 minutes to complete), and unique to midlife women. They asked hormonal questions, health history and all the other basic health history questions you’ll get on a GLP-1 intake form.

At the end of the intake, the patient can choose which medication they’re interested in for the provider to review. This helps the patient and the provider be on the same page during the care process.

Have your I.D. card ready - drivers license or your passport, because you’ll have to upload it. That’s a big trust signal for me, and I don’t see every GLP-1 provider intake form do that.

You will be prompted to enter your credit card upon completion, but Josie doesn’t charge your card until you’re approved and agree on the medication as discussed with your Josie provider.

They do mention that there could be an $80 consult fee - this will only happen if you receive the consultation, get approved, and then decide not to go through with it. So, be sure it’s what you want before submitting the intake form.

Overall, it was quick, painless, straightforward and very user-friendly.

Customer Service Responses

I emailed in to team@joinjosie.com to ask pricing questions, cancellation policy, refund policy, and what happens after sign up. You can find all of that information on this page, and it comes straight from the brand.

They responded back in less than an hour. This is way above average compared to other GLP-1 providers that I email - responding back in less than 24 hours is rare.

Josie’s customer care team informed me that after you submit your intake form, all communication with your licensed provider and care team takes place inside the patient portal.

Cancellation is simple, and not hidden, because you’ll need to fill out a refill form before getting prescribed your next shipment. Refill forms are sent 2 weeks prior to your next fill up.

Licensed Providers + Care Team

Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD and Dr. Kelly Tenbrink supervise all patient cases, accompanied by nurse practitioners and a 24/7 available care team. Both providers have a solid reputation online and patients seem to really like their care style and communication. Both Dr. Carr and Dr. Tenbrink supervise GLP-1 and HRT at Josie. I believe you’ll be in great hands with them.

Allow Josie’s care team and the providers 24 hours to get back to you. If you don’t hear from them, reach out to their support team, who are very responsive and kind.

My Synopsis and Recommendation

After doing my due diligence and speaking with the Join Josie team, I can confidently recommend them as a legit provider for GLP-1’s and HRT, especially for women over 35.

Things to consider:

  • Their month-to-month plan could be from Strive pharmacy. From my experience covering compounded GLP-1s, Strive could very well be the top compounding pharmacy - there are loads of positive reviews, but you should make sure they deliver to your state before ordering.
  • Bulk plans are huge savings, with the 12-month plan being the most savings, especially with compounded tirzepatide, coming in at $233/mo, but paid up-front.
  • You may be eligible for both GLP-1 and HRT, and they give you the option to add both to your cart.
  • If you’re interested in microdosing, it is strictly for weight maintenance and is not an FDA approved dosing schedule.
  • Take advantage of our discount code to save on your first order.
